Peter Rath is a freelance Photographer specializing in Portraiture, Entertainment & Corporate Headshots, as well as images of People in Motion.
He was born in Germany, grew up in England and has lived the majority of his life in Los Angeles. He has been photographing the world around him since an early age and this year completed a one year long intensive Photography Certificate Program at the Los Angeles Center of Photography. Photography to him is not just about capturing a beautiful image, it is also about the process of engaging and helping the viewer slow down, to take a time-out from today's increasingly busy world, and helping the observer notice something new and meaningful about themself or their environment, which ultimately helps to expand their "Weltanschauung" (view of life.)
Peter strongly believes in "Deliberate Practice" the process of constantly challenging yourself to learn and master a new skill and as a result his "Waves" series recently won the "Top Photographer" award selected by two thousand participating voting members on the GuruShots website.
Peter is currently exhibiting one of his portrait images at the "Annual Creative Portrait Exhibition" selected by juror Greg Gorman (GregGormanPhotography.com) at the Los Angeles Center of Photography.
